Ning Wen captures the spectrum of good and bad desires in Gayle S. Rubin's sexual hierarchy, resembling a musical composition with highs and lows, weaving a symphony of desire. However, these notes are not fixed; different desires switch hierarchies in different temporal and spatial contexts, creating a constantly changing organic state.
As a sexual photographer, Ning Wen focuses on capturing the remnants of various facets of "sex." In their creations, "sex" is not solely for pleasure or the continuation of life. They exhibit various blossoming postures, being treated with tenderness or violence in different times and cultures. Whether endowed with sacredness or stigma, in the end, there always remains a sense of satisfaction, teasing, emptiness, loneliness, regret, fear, calmness...
